BARON ALFRED DE ROTHSCHILD 1842-1918

In Highclere Castle's tame publications on Almina Wombwell, 5th Countess of   Carnarvon,  they are quick to assert the bastards that suit them by drooling in heady print that the millionaire banker Baron Alfred de Rothschild ( 1842-1918) ( pictured above ) fathered Almina, the most indefatigable of all the Caranarvon chatelaines.

The 6th Earl,Porchey, also a bastard, this real father being Prince Victor Duleep Singh,  slipped this  lie about Alfred  into his lewd, unreliable memoirs, but  conveniently omitted to declare his own true blood line albeit he mentioned that Prince Victor was his godfather.

Alfred de Rothschild lived his  life as a banker, patron of the arts, especially art  in his own  impressive collection and associations with the Wallace Collection and  the National Gallery.  However Alfred had another life as predatory homosexual.

Porchey Carnarvon as a boy- later 6th Earl of Carnarvon- His real father is an issue that has been a curse to Highclere

150th ANNIVERSARY OF THE BIRTH OF LORD CARNARVON  OF  TUTANKHAMUM FAME

George Edward Stanhope Molyneux Herbert, Lord Porchester was born 26 June 1866 at 66, Grosvenor Street, Mayfair, London.

George grew up surrounded by art and antiquities at Highclere Castle, Bretby Park and Pixton Park the seats of his father Henry, 4th Earl of Carnarvon and his mother Lady Evelyn Stanhope.

It is a myth that George was born at Highclere Castle. He was  however christened at Highclere.

George was co-discoverer with Howard Carter of the Tomb of Tutankhamun in the Valley of the Kings, Egypt, in 1922.

He died in Cairo on 5 April, 1923.

The story of the  two adventurers, Carnarvon and Carter - and the boy King Tutankhamun are revisited in a new book  published on 20 October  2016, from William Cross, the author of five other books on the Carnarvons of Highclere Castle.
